Refund policy

At Black Sheep Woodworks, every piece of wood is unique. Because of this, we have specific guidelines to ensure fairness for both our customers and our shop.


Natural Material Disclaimer

Wood is a natural product and will vary in:

  • grain pattern
  • color (including heartwood and sapwood)
  • knots, cracks, and character marks
  • live edge shape and bark presence

These variations are not considered defects, but rather part of what makes each piece unique.


Returns for “Not as Expected”

If you are not satisfied with your order for any reason:

  • Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery
  • Items must be unused and in original condition
  • Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable

Once the item is received and inspected, a refund will be issued minus return shipping (if applicable).


Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Provide clear photos of:
    • the item
    • the packaging
    • the issue

We will work with you to:

  • replace the item, or
  • issue a partial or full refund depending on the situation

Bark & Live Edge Disclaimer

Live edge boards may:

  • arrive with loose or missing bark
  • experience bark separation during shipping

This is natural and expected, and not considered damage.


Custom & Special Orders

Custom orders are:

  • non-returnable
  • non-refundable

unless damaged or incorrect upon arrival.


Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled within 12 hours of purchase.

After this window, materials may already be processed, and cancellations may not be possible.


Exchanges

Due to the unique nature of each piece, direct exchanges are limited.

If approved:

  • Buyer is responsible for return shipping
  • Replacement items will be based on available inventory
