7/4 Cherry Live Edge Board β 1.75 Inch Single Live Edge Wood for Shelves and Mantels
These 7/4 Cherry boards combine a natural live edge with a straight edge, giving you the character of live-edge wood while maintaining a clean reference edge for mounting, layout, or joinery.
Each piece is kiln dried, flattened, and sanded to approximately 1.75" thick. Cherry's warm color and natural grain make these boards especially well suited for shelves, mantels, ledges, benches, and other custom woodworking projects.

Natural Cherry Character
Cherry is known for its warm reddish-brown tones and natural grain character. The wood can deepen in color with exposure to light, creating a richer appearance over time.
Natural features such as sapwood highlights, small checks, occasional knots, grain variation, and subtle figure may be present.
Every board is unique, and the live edge will naturally vary in shape and character from piece to piece.
What to Expect
Length and width may vary within the stated sizing brackets. The listed dimensional tolerance is approximately Β±1" on length and Β±1/2" on width, with a final thickness tolerance of approximately Β±1/16".
Because wood is a natural material, slight movement can occur as environmental humidity changes.
Acclimation and Installation
Allow the board to acclimate to its final environment before installation or final fitting.
For shelves, use appropriately sized brackets secured into suitable structural support. Pre-drilling is recommended when installing hardware near the live edge.
Finishing
Cherry can be finished with hard wax oils, penetrating oils, oil-poly blends, or clear varnishes depending on the desired appearance.
Cherry naturally darkens with exposure to light, so we recommend testing your chosen finish on an offcut before finishing the entire board.
