7/4 Black Walnut Live Edge Board – 1.75 Inch Single Live Edge Slab
This 7/4 Black Walnut board features one natural live edge and one straight edge, combining the character of real live-edge walnut with the clean edge needed for mounting, joinery, or installation.
Each piece is kiln dried, flattened, planed, and surfaced to approximately 1.75 inches thick to showcase the rich color and natural grain of Black Walnut.

Natural Walnut Character
Black Walnut is known for its rich chocolate-brown heartwood, distinctive grain, and natural variation. Pieces may feature subtle sapwood contrast, feathering, curl, mineral character, or small filled checks.
Every live edge is naturally different. Grain orientation, edge shape, width, and overall appearance will vary from piece to piece.
What to Expect
Each board is individually milled, kiln dried, surfaced, and hand inspected. Bark may be retained where it is structurally sound, but bark retention can vary.
Width and length may vary by approximately ±1". Thickness is approximately 1.75" after surfacing, with a tolerance of approximately ±1/16".
Wood Movement
Wood naturally responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Allow the board to acclimate to its final environment before installation or final milling.
For shelves, mantels, benches, and other installations, use appropriate hardware and allow for natural wood movement where necessary.
Finishing
Black Walnut looks excellent with penetrating oils, hard wax oils, polyurethane, or other clear finishes. Sanding to approximately 220–320 grit before finishing can help create a smooth surface and bring out the natural depth of the walnut.
We recommend testing your chosen finish on an offcut or inconspicuous area before finishing the entire piece.
