Soft Maple lumber with a light cream color, fine grain, and subtle natural color variation. Each board is kiln dried, planed and sanded to approximately 7/8", and ripped to the selected width for a clean starting point for woodworking projects.

Soft Maple is a versatile choice for furniture parts, cabinetry, shelving, drawer boxes, trim, turned or carved parts, and general woodworking.

Natural Character

Soft Maple typically features a light cream color with subtle pink, gray, or brown tones. Natural variation in color and grain is expected, and occasional mineral streaks may be present.

What to Expect

Surfaces arrive planed and ready for final sanding and finishing. Edges are straight and ripped to the selected width.

The finished thickness is approximately 7/8" after surfacing. As with all natural wood products, slight dimensional changes can occur as the lumber adjusts to changes in temperature and humidity.

Finishing

Soft Maple provides a smooth surface for sanding and finishing. Sand to your desired final grit before applying paint, stain, oil, or another finish.

For glue-ups, joint the edges as needed and allow the boards to acclimate to their final environment before installation or assembly.

Perfectly cut! stained them with a golden oak color and they are now the perfect shelves for my entrance area/coffee mug wall!

I used this Soft Maple to build a desk as a Christmas gift, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The boards were straight, clean, and easy to work with, which made the whole build go smoothly. The grain and color were beautiful once finished, and it took sanding and finish very well. It ended up being a solid, high-quality piece that I’m genuinely proud to give as a gift. The shipping was very quick with the wood wrapped with bubble wrap so it was protected. The wood was straight, with good grain, and milled to the correct dimensions and smooth surfaces. This wood should make great carved jewelry. I am sure I will be trying some other types of wood from them.
